تسجيل (41) حالة إصابة بضربات الشمس في مدينة بورتسودان خلال اليومين الماضيين، من بينها حالة وفاة واحدة، استمرار ارتفاع الإصابات في ظل ارتفاع غير مسبوق في درجات الحرارة، بجانب انقطاع التيار الكهربائي لساعات طويلة، خاصة في أماكن الإيواء والمناطق السكنية المكتظة.
تعبر الشبكة عن بالغ قلقها من تزايد أعداد الإصابات، في وقت يشهد فيه القطاع الصحي ضغطًا كبيرًا ونقصًا في الكوادر والمعدات، ما يزيد من خطورة الموقف ويُهدد بتفاقم الوضع إذا استمرت موجة الحر في ظل انقطاع التيار الكهربائي دون تدخل فوري وفاعل.
تدعو شبكة أطباء السودان إلى ضرورة التحرك العاجل لحل مشكلة الكهرباء، خصوصًا مراكز الإيواء كما تُشدد الشبكة على أهمية دعم الكوادر الطبية بالمستلزمات اللازمة لعلاج ضربات الشمس، وتكثيف حملات التوعية المجتمعية لتثقيف السكان حول سبل الوقاية، مثل الإكثار من شرب المياه، وتفادي الخروج خلال ساعات الذروة، وارتداء ملابس خفيفة وفاتحة اللون، واستخدام أغطية الرأس.

Sudan Doctors Network: Surge in Heatstroke Cases in Port Sudan with 41 Cases and One Death Reported Over Two Days
A total of 41 cases of heatstroke have been reported in Port Sudan over the past two days, including one death, as temperatures continue to soar to unprecedented levels. The situation is exacerbated by prolonged power outages, particularly in shelter centers and densely populated residential areas.
The Sudan Doctors Network expresses deep concern over the rising number of cases at a time when the healthcare sector is under immense pressure, facing shortages in staff and medical supplies. These challenges significantly heighten the risk and could lead to a worsening crisis if the heatwave persists and power outages continue without immediate and effective intervention.
The Network urges urgent action to address the electricity crisis, especially in shelter facilities, and emphasizes the importance of equipping medical teams with the necessary supplies to treat heatstroke cases. It also calls for intensified public awareness campaigns to educate residents on preventive measures, such as staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activity during peak heat hours, wearing light-colored and loose-fitting clothing, and using head coverings.
